JDBE: Journal of Digital Business and Entrepreneurship is a peer-reviewed, open-access international journal dedicated to publishing pioneering research at the dynamic intersection of digital transformation, startup ecosystems, and modern entrepreneurial management. Positioned at the critical convergence of technological innovation, e-commerce, and business strategy, the journal serves as a premier scholarly forum for business academics, digital entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and technology policymakers worldwide. JDBE prioritizes macro-level strategic evaluations, rigorous empirical business investigations, and disruptive digital frameworks that address the complexities of launching, scaling, and sustaining tech-driven ventures. By bridging foundational entrepreneurship theories with rapid digital market disruptions, the journal fosters a deep, comprehensive understanding of digital business models, platform economics, and agile market competitiveness in a hyper-connected global economy.

Scope and Topics

The journal welcomes high-quality original research articles, critical literature reviews, and comprehensive startup case studies that offer significant contributions to the following thematic areas:

  • Digital Entrepreneurship & Startup Ecosystems: Lean startup methodologies, venture capital and crowdfunding dynamics, tech incubation and acceleration, and the scaling strategies of digital-first enterprises.

  • Digital Business Strategy & Transformation: Business model innovation, digital leadership, corporate venturing, legacy system modernization, and the strategic integration of emerging technologies into corporate operations.

  • E-Commerce & Digital Marketing: Omnichannel retail architectures, social commerce, digital consumer behavior, search engine optimization (SEO) strategies, and data-driven branding.

  • FinTech, Blockchain & the Digital Economy: Decentralized finance (DeFi), cryptocurrency integration in business, peer-to-peer lending platforms, smart contracts in supply chains, and the economics of digital platforms.

  • Innovation Management & Technological Commercialization: The business applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT), data monetization strategies, disruptive innovation theory, and intellectual property in the digital age.

Publication Frequency

To ensure rigorous editorial oversight, thorough peer review, and timely dissemination of cutting-edge business intelligence, JDBE is published semi-annually (2 issues per year, typically scheduled for release in June and December). Special thematic issues focusing on emergent digital market trends, post-crisis startup resilience, or highly disruptive technological shifts (e.g., generative AI in business) may be commissioned by the Editorial Board.

Peer Review Process

JDBE enforces a strict double-blind peer review policy to maintain the highest standards of academic integrity, analytical objectivity, and empirical validity.

  • Initial Desk Evaluation: Every submission undergoes a preliminary screening by the Editor-in-Chief or a relevant Subject Editor to assess thematic alignment, methodological soundness, and structural compliance. Plagiarism screening via Turnitin/iThenticate is strictly executed at this stage, requiring a similarity index below the journal's maximum threshold.
  • Expert Peer Review: Manuscripts passing the desk evaluation are anonymized and assigned to at least two independent international reviewers who are established academic experts or industry leaders in the specific domain of digital business or entrepreneurship.
  • Editorial Decision: Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the Editorial Board renders one of four decisions: Acceptance, Revisions Required (Minor/Major), Resubmit for Review, or Rejection. The final decision rests entirely on the intellectual merit, methodological rigor, and practical applicability of the work to the digital business sector.

Mission Statement: "The mission of JDBE is to deconstruct digital market complexities and catalyze innovative, sustainable entrepreneurial practices within a rapidly accelerating global economy.
